The legislation, which passed the House by a vote of 231-184, ensures that certain individuals who are subjected to prolonged inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at ports of entry have a meaningful opportunity to communicate with counsel and other interested parties.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2214, the National Origin-Based Antidiscrimination for Nonimmigrants (NO BAN) Act by a bipartisan vote of 233-183. The NO BAN Act stops executive overreach by preventing the president from abusing his authority to restrict the entry of non-citizens into the United States. The bill also repeals several of President Trump's travel bans, including the xenophobic Muslim ban.
