"Hank" Johnson, Jr. (D-GA) sent a letter toUnder Secretary of Commerce For Intellectual Property and U.S. Department of Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Director Andrei Iancu requesting information on the impact the coronavirus public health crisis has had on the operations of the USPTO.

Washington, D.C. –Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Representative Max Rose (D-NY), and Co-Chair of the Congressional Law Enforcement Caucus Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ), introduced the Public Safety Officer Pandemic Response Act of 2020. This legislation would expand an existing federal program to ensure that public safety officers who contract COVID-19 in the line of duty are eligible for benefits should they become disabled or die from the virus.

Washington, D.C. – As COVID-19 continues to spread to prisoners and staff at federal prisons across the country and the death rate rises, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Subcommittee on Crime Chairwoman Karen Bass (D-CA) sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General William Barr to demand answers and regular, public briefings regarding the handling of COVID-19 in federal prisons and the implementation of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, a bicameral group of Democratic Members of Congress submitted an amicus curiae brief to the Supreme Court in support of Pennsylvania's lawsuit challenging a Trump Administration rule that would undermine access to birth control for women across the country. Since the Affordable Care Act's birth control benefit went into effect in 2012, over 60 million women nationwide now have access to birth control at no cost through their insurance.
