Washington, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) issued two subpoenas for testimony from two Department of Justice whistleblowers. These individuals-John W. Elias and Aaron S.J. Zelinsky-are prepared to describe the unprecedented politicization of the Department under President Trump and Attorney General William Barr. Mr. Elias and Mr. Zelinsky will be joined by former U.S. Deputy Attorney General Donald Ayer in a hearing before the Committee on June 24, 2020.

Washington, D.C. –Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Chair Steve Cohen (D-TN) denounced the Trump Administration's decision to eliminate health care protections for vulnerable communities, including LGBTQ individuals. The new rule from the Trump Administration also rolls back nondiscrimination protections for women and individuals with limited English proficiency.

Washington, D.C. –Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Subcommittee on Crime Chair Karen Bass (D-CA) sent a letter to Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Director Michael Carvajal condemning the deployment of officers from BOP's Special Operations Response Team (SORT) throughout Washington, D.C. in response to peaceful protests. The Member's are seeking answers on the rationale for this decision, as well as details on how many officers were deployed and where they were deployed to.
