Today, U.S. Representative Jerrold Nadler, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement:

"If there were any lingering questions of the direction Donald Trump will take our country, look no further than the nomination of Matt Gaetz as United States Attorney General.

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representatives Jerrold Nadler (NY-12), Sean Casten (IL-06), and Jan Schakowsky (IL-09) introduced the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Study (FACES) Act of 2024, legislation to study barriers to enforcement of existing protections for access to reproductive health clinics.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett (D-VI), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government led all 9 Democratic Members of the Subcommittee in a letter to Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) calling for a hearing to examine the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025. Project 2025 provides a nearly 900-page policy roadmap for a drastic, unconstitutional restructuring of the government that would infringe on the rights of millions of Americans by delivering unbridled power to the President.

House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) wrote in support of the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) proposed rule to transfer marijuana from schedule I to schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). The letter was sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland and DEA Administrator Anne Milgram.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As the Department of Education's repayment "on-ramp" expires September 30th, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerrold Nadler and Subcommittee on Administrative Law, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust Ranking Member Lou Correa re-introduced a bill that would give Americans overwhelmed by student loan debt the option of obtaining meaningful bankruptcy relief.
