Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) to announce the reintroduction of the Pretrial Integrity and Safety Act. The Pretrial Integrity and Safety Act incentivizes states to move away from a money bail system. Instead, the bill encourages states to replace their existing bail systems with assessments made on proven data outcomes-a more just system for evaluating the flight and safety risk of defendants facing trial.

Washington, D.C. - Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6, the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021, which provides a path to citizenship for Dreamers as well as TPS and DED recipients, and H.R. 1603, the Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2021, which would permit farm workers-and their spouses and children-to earn legal status through continued agricultural work, and streamline and improve the H-2A agricultural worker program. H.R. 6 passed by a bipartisan vote of 228 to 197. H.R. 1603 passed by a bipartisan vote of 247 to 174.
