WASHINGTON, D.C.-House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler today delivered the following remarks, as prepared, on the House floor in support of the Speak Out Act (S. 4524):

"Madam Speaker, S. 4524, the "Speak Out Act," empowers survivors of sexual misconduct by prohibiting the use of non-disclosure and non-disparagement clauses that serve to silence survivors who entered agreements containing those clauses before a dispute arises.

Washington, D.C. – House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Antitrust Subcommittee Chair David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following statement after a healthcare staffing company pleaded guilty and was sentenced yesterday for conspiring with another staffing company not to compete for each other's nurses and to fix the wages of those nurses, in violation of the Sherman Act:

Washington, D.C. - House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI), Chair of the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law, last week introduced a bill that would give Americans overwhelmed by student loan debt the option of obtaining meaningful bankruptcy relief. The Student Borrower Bankruptcy Relief Act of 2022 would eliminate the section of the bankruptcy code that makes private and federal student loans nondischargeable, allowing these loans to be treated like nearly all other forms of consumer debt.
