Nadler, Collins Congratulate Karyn Temple on Copyright Appointment

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, released the following joint statement congratulating Karyn Temple on her appointment as the 13th Register of Copyrights.

“We applaud the appointment today of Karyn Temple as the 13th United States Register of Copyrights by Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden.  Ms. Temple brings with her deep knowledge and experience of the copyright system, having worked in private practice and in numerous positions at the Copyright Office, including most recently for two-and-half years as Acting Register.  She is also the first person of color to hold this post.  As Chairman and Ranking Member of the Committee with oversight of copyright law, we look forward to working with Ms. Temple to ensure effective administration of the copyright system and the Office's ongoing modernization efforts.”

Karyn Temple was serving as Acting Register of Copyrights when she was appointed by Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden. Prior to this position, she served as Associate Register of Copyrights and Director of Policy and International Affairs for the United States Copyright Office.
