Ranking Member Raskin Demands Bondi Halt Illegal Intimidation Campaign Targeting DOJ’s Top Corruption Fighters

Washington, February 14, 2025

Washington, D.C. (February 14, 2025)—Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, issued the following statement following alarming reports that the Trump Administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has forced lawyers in its Public Integrity Section to decide whether they will cede to Donald Trump’s corrupt orders or be immediately fired:

“I am receiving disturbing reports that the career prosecutors in DOJ’s Public Integrity Section—the Justice Department’s top corruption fighters and celebrated lawyers—have been told that one of them will carry out Donald Trump’s dirty deal with Mayor Adams by dismissing the Grand Jury criminal indictment against him or else all of them will be fired immediately.

“Attorney General Bondi: I call on you to put an immediate halt to this illegal and unconscionable intimidation campaign. Your Department of Justice has been caught engaging in a corrupt deal with Mayor Adams and now attempting to cover it up. It’s time to do your job and stop this outrageous sabotage of justice in the interests of naked political corruption.”
