On January 31, 2025, Ranking Member Jamie Raskin led Committee Democrats in a virtual Member briefing discussion examining the Trump Administration’s alarming assault on the career federal prosecutors, special agents, and law enforcement professionals of the Department of Justice (DOJ). The briefing featured a panel of experts, who discussed the rights, recourses, and resources available to DOJ and other federal employees in the face of the Trump Administration’s recent attacks recent attacks on the federal government’s nonpartisan, expert career DOJ employees, including wide-spread removals, demotions, and involuntary reassignments, likely in violation of federal law, as well as the Administration’s dubious “deferred resignation” proposal.
