Raskin Says Committee Democrats Will “Wage a Front-Line Defense” of American Freedom and Democracy

Washington, D.C. (January 14, 2025)—Today, Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, released the following statement announcing new Democratic Members of the Committee for the 119th Congress:

“I am thrilled to welcome this team of Democratic all-stars and legal eagles to the Committee for the 119th Congress. This stellar roster of Democrats will wage a front-line defense of American freedom, constitutional democracy and the rule of law.

“Even in the face of all the MAGA chaos and dysfunction, Democrats will work hard to advance the common good and justice for all.  We will keep fighting to advance pragmatic solutions to the serious problems facing our nation—from the staggering gun violence epidemic to the violation of women’s health care and reproductive rights in half the country to the crisis of climate change.
