Chairman Nadler Applauds Judiciary Priorities in FY2022 Omnibus
Washington,
March 10, 2022
Washington, D.C. - Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) issued the following statement applauding the Judiciary Committee priorities included in H.R. 2471, the FY2022 Omnibus package: "This appropriations package makes transformative investments that will help families across the nation and move America forward. I was pleased to see many Judiciary Committee priorities within this package, including funding to enhance competition in our economy and to revive the EB-5 visa program. "I was also particularly proud that a long-overdue, bipartisan reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act was included in this legislation. I want to especially thank Subcommittee Chairwoman Sheila Jackson Lee who led the effort to pass VAWA in the House and fought tirelessly for its inclusion in the omnibus. Thanks to her long-time leadership on this issue, communities across America will have the tools they need to combat the crimes of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking." |
