Tomorrow, House Judiciary Subcommittee to Hold Hearing on Discrimination and Violence Against Asian Americans

Washington, March 17, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and Subcommittee Chairman on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Steve Cohen (D-TN) released the following joint statement on the shooting of eight people in Georgia yesterday:

The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties will hold a hearing tomorrow on ‘Discrimination and Violence Against Asian Americans’ at which these issues will be explored. Our thoughts are with the victims in Georgia as we seek a better understanding of our times.”

Tomorrow, March 18th at 10:00 a.m., the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties will hold a hearing on the discrimination and violence Asian Americans have faced both historically and since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
