Chairman Nadler Statement on GAO Decision That Trump Violated the Law By Withholding Ukraine Aid

Washington, January 16, 2020

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman and impeachment manager, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), released the following statement after the Government Accountability Office announced that President Donald Trump violated the law when he withheld millions in military aid for Ukraine:

“Today’s decision by the Government Accountability Office confirms what we already knew: the President broke the law by withholding critical military aid from a vulnerable ally.  Despite the President’s continuing efforts to conceal his unlawful scheme from the American public, the facts are clear and the evidence is overwhelming.  He did this solely to pressure Ukraine for his personal, political gain. The Senate must act to remove President Trump from office for his abuse of power.”
